Many people don't understand the effect suicide can have on the lives of a victim's family. Most feel empathy for them, because someone very special in their lives left them without warning, or because they are left lost and confused.  That isn't our family!   In 2011 a very special man in our lives (a loving husband & father to 4 children) lost his battle with mental illness,  taking his own life to  suicide. We were all left heartbroken.   But when something bad happens in your life you are left with a tough decision. Wait for the pain to run your life, or do something about it. So we took action, and used our experience to help the people around us cope with struggles of their own.   Most importantly, we created "Up With Life", to prevent suicide and bring awareness to mental illness awareness and suicide prevention.
