60 Ways Anxiety Has Effected Me

A Penny For Your Thoughts

I was born with a curse. Anxiety.

wor·ry

way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.

anx·i·e·ty

a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

Worry is something that we can typically control, and it can be over come. But anxiety, at least in my eyes, is worrying excessively over something that others would not think anything of.

I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder (a psychiatric disorder in which debilitating anxiety and fear arise frequently and without reasonable cause), Major Depression and possibly Bipolar Disorder within the last year, but I have been battling with anxiety since I was 14 years old.

These disorders have taken a lot from me, and they have effected me in ways many would never understand. But I've learned that mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of, and just like any other disease, I can still live a happy life.

Anxiety isn't just worry. And for some, like me, it can have a HUGE impact on your life! But it can't be an excuse to living unhappily. For those with mental illnesses like me... they can't just 'go away' on their own. But with a new, positive outlook, and the desire to see all the good that this life has to offer; anxiety might always be the voice in the back of your head telling you that you're not good enough... but your voice will always be much louder. Telling you that you are.
